Each person has a different outlook in relation to driving a car. One can think about it as either nice or bad depending on the day to day experience. The necessity in driving a car is determined how the driver sees it.

As a matter of fact, cars are now considered a necessity for a lot of people these days just as water and electricity. Driving ourselves to work instead of commuting can be the measurement of promotion or getting laid off from work, particularly if the only choice of route that we take is often traffic. Driving is also a lot comfortable than sitting in a bus or standing up in a subway train then walking a number of yards to get to the area you need to get to.

A car’s comfort, however, varies from place to place. If traffic is not a regular activity from where you live, then you and your car get things easy. Choosing public transportation or driving your own car will also be easier without having to be concerned which is the fastest. You also don’t have to worry much about your gas use exceeding and pay for the next time you you fill ‘er up.

Then again, if you live in a place where traffic jams are an everyday occurrence, you are not alone. In fact, you should recognize that there are more people who are unluckier than you since they probably have to get up earlier than you just to escape traffic.

Below are some of the worst places to drive a car.

Los Angeles, California, USA: If you ask people in the US which city has the most terrible traffic, a majority of them will say Los Angeles has the nastiest traffic in all 50 states. Los Angeles also has the highest amount of smog as a result of traffic jams. Motorists spend hours stuck in traffic.

Mumbai, India: Aside from potholes, cars have to share roads with carts pushed or pulled by oxen, bicycles, or humans. A motorist in Mumbai has to be cautious not to smash into any of these and they even have to give way to them even though cars should be the only ones passing through these roads. The crowded roads and streets of Mumbai also come to a standstill when animals regarded as as sacred like cows choose to pass or even rest in the middle of the road.

Hong Kong: Hong Kong’s integer of cars continues to grow each year but the streets are becoming too narrow for the numbers. It will be practically impossible to make wider these roads because buildings have to be demolished and relocation of people and their businesses will be extremely hard.

Manila, Philippines: Traffic in Manila happens virtually constantly each and every day. Although rush hours have something to do with it, lack of discipline is the highest problem. Traffic obstructions are mostly caused by public utility vehicles in Manila where buses and jeeps stop anywhere they choose to to get passengers which repeatedly also result to collisions that make things worse. Stress-free driving in Manila ordinarily happens during Sundays and Holidays since people are spending their free time in their homes.

These places are just few of the countless ones where driving can prove stressful. Nowadays, a driver needs patience and positive thinking for driving in traffic to be not as much stressful and maybe entertaining.

Transportation is an important part of living in any urban area.

We must go out to take care of the necessities.

On the other hand, salvation may be at hand.

As communication improves, lots and lots of travel miles are going to be eliminated.

For example, already 50% of all US engineering work is being done in India. India graduates 350,000 qualified engineers annually, and because of the capabilities of fiber optics, whether a person is in the next office or the next country, it doesn’t matter.

As more and more knowledge work is done from the home rather than from an expensive office, the more traffic will be eliminated from the roads.

In addition, as more and more “socializing” takes place electronically, even the ritual of mating, having to go to a PLACE other than the home will disappear.

So, yes, we agree with you, for the moment, traffic is a mess in many places. But, gradually, as the capabilities of simulating reality electronically improve, actually physically traveling to a workplace or a dating place or a place of worship will no longer be the only way to get the task accomplished.

Already, we can see in our neighborhood, where the streets used to always be jammed with teenagers meeting each other and socializing, they are now accomplishing all that online.

Instead of going to theaters, they are ordering NetFlix and staying home.

Also, new architectural designs are making it possible for the village to come back. Neighborhoods are being designed so that all food, medical care, and entertainment are within walking distance.

Cars will probably never go away, but the necessity for transport is going to wane as the decades pass, and the population of the Earth levels off.
