Living Life One Day at a Time

Meet Mary

Mary New
This is my kitty, Mary. She came into our home a year ago. She was nothing but skin and bones. She weighed 4 and a half pounds and looked rough. Within a few days, we realized she was pregnant. She didn’t run from people, but she didn’t really want attention. She did not seem to enjoy being petted like most cats do.

What a difference a year makes. She now ways about 7 pounds. She is very active. She loves being petted and being around people. Our lives have changed a lot since she came into our home. We have a good time with her and her kittens. She only had 2 kittens and we kept them both. Here is a picture of what she looks like now.

Trusted Tours and Attractions in Philadelphia

Posted on March 22, 2008 in the category

For me, the City of Philadelphia brings back a lot of memories. Outside of my immediate family I have no relatives in the state I live in. My cousins all live in Philadelphia and I have many memories of visiting them. Each year that vacation not only consisted of cookouts and days at the pool, we also spent time visiting the historic sites of this grand city. I can remember visiting Independence Hall (back when you could just walk right in) when the Liberty Bell was still inside the hall.

I have been to many of their unique museums and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I recently went back there and was amazed at how different everything seemed. Now we all know that everything seems so much smaller and different as an adult, but a lot has also changed since 9/11. Things are much more secure and more difficult to see, but it still worth seeing if you are in Philadelphia.

If you are looking for things to do in Philadelphia, Trusted Tours & Attractions is the perfect way to see the sites of the city. Trusted Tours has great family vacation ideas for many of the large historic cities in this country. The best way to keep up with Trusted Tours latest events is by signing up for their newsletter. I have been on some of Trusted Tours vacation packages and they are a great way to see the highlights of the city.

I am Ready for Spring

It was nice yesterday. It was sunny and warm. Overall, it was a very nice day. But today it is cold again. It kind of snow, but it didn’t really amount to anything. I am ready to see things start to look alive again. I want to see the outdoors begin to look alive and the animals become active. There are some nice parks in this city and I am anxious to be able to get out and walk in the outdoors.

Part of my recovery this year is going to be dealing with my weight and getting the last of it off. I do much better if I can get outside and exercise. And if I a walk in a park where I am surrounded by the beauty that only God can create, it not only exercises my physically, it helps clear my mind of the many distractions that life hands us.

Program an Emergency Contact for Security

Posted on March 22, 2008 in the category

Ice your phone is an innovative way of identifying yourself. Most everyone carries a cell phone these days and this includes under aged teenagers that have no other type identification. The ice your phone program allows you to program an “in case of emergency” (ICE) contact into your phone. You place an ICE sticker on the outside of the phone and this indicates to the authorities that the emergency contact information is present in your phone. Go to icesticker.com today and ice your phone.

The Party is Over

Well my son’s birthday party is over. Although everyone was supposed to be gone by noon, there are still 3 people here. This is common and at some point in time I will probably have to ask them when there ride is coming. All went well except for the one boy being down the street at his girlfriends when his mother came to pick him up. She was less than pleased. I heard the door open and close in the morning and that must have been him. But it still kind of pisses me off, because they all assured me that would not leave.

My cats can finally start calming down. They are not used to the noise and commotion and they stayed close to me all night. We got my son a letter jacket for his birthday. It has all his patches on it. It is heavy and expensive.
